The new microwave shelf! It was an IKEA cabinet door I painted blue. It's plenty strong to hold the microwave. I screwed the door into one of the half studs in the wall for extra security but the shelf brackets themselves are capable of holding 600lbs. I got them at Home Depot for $7 each. I think the grand total for this project was $25. $14 for the brackets, $5 for the IKEA door, $2 for the spray paint, and $4 for the bracket screws. The trim was already there, I just re used everything.
