Structures on the Beach
I've always walked on the beach. Sometimes I find someone's built something in the sand....
Cairn
Below Empire Bluff , Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The most impressive structure I've ever found on a beach.
Flickr has photographs of this construction dating back some time . It's obviously important to someone.
Structures on the Beach
First of Six .
We were walking the beach at Cheboygan and found an elaborate set of sculptures/constructs/whatever in front of the state park's Fourteen Foot Shoal cabin. Of course I took pictures....
Structures on the Beach
Second of Six .
Critters? Or perhaps gun emplacements? Hard to tell. Hard to say.
On the beach at Cheboygan State Park.
Structures on the Beach
Third of Six.
This elaborate project just invites speculation. Perhaps this is some sort of armored vehicle out attacking a fortress. Or a stocky couple out for a Sunday drive. Whatever is that shell for? And what are the other structures around this one?
On the beach at Cheboygan State Park, near the Fourteen Foot Shoal cabin.
Structures on the Beach
Fifth of Six.
And what have we here? I presume that driftwood border has some significance. Is that a bunker near the top of the photo? Are those feathers supposed to represent trees? And what, pray tell, are those ranked-and-filed shells? Mysteries.
On the beach at Cheboygan State Park.
Structures on the Beach
Fourth of Six.
A stick figure, literally, but that doesn't explain. A gladiator, perhaps, astride a horse? A monster outside the village walls? A Star Wars-inspired weapons system? Or just a guy on the beach?
We may never know....
Structures on the Beach
Last of Six.
A stockade! With a moat! And a monster patrolling the moat....
The long beach at Cheboygan State Park, in front of the 14 Foot Shoal cabin.
