Borgess Hospital
Kalamazoo. I spend too much time there, but far less than my brother and sister.
Skylight Reflections
This reflection photograph's been the wallpaper on my laptop for the past year.
This is one of my favorite 366 Snaps outtakes--in fact, it's one of my favorite photographs from the entire photo-a-day project. These skylight reflections can be annoying if you're inside one of the rooms above them, but from the outside they make delightful patterns on the walls.
==========
Another day at the hospital. I've mentioned the boredom of hospital days, but it's important to mention that we were near panic late last July, as my sister'd had a very rough weekend.
The day's 366 Snaps photos were shot along Gull Road--the hospital, the businesses across from the hospital, the cemetery, the Juvenile Home, and the courthouse attached to the Juvie. It's a surprisingly good set.
Oh, yes. I found these daylilies at the hospital's main entrance, and had to photograph them. I may be addicted to daylily photographs.

I discussed the Juvie yesterday (another photo below); I've nothing to add today.

Nursing Station
Continuing the previous day's story ....
A year ago it was back to Kalamazoo so my brother could complete the failed medical test from the day before. Having learned from the previous day's experience, I shot a few insurance shots ( of the trellis , of course) before leaving home, and this view of the nursing station while I was waiting for my brother's return from his test. Things went well, and we were out of there in a couple hours.
Returned my brother to his home, wished my sister a happy birthday, and headed for Mulliken. On the way I stopped in Olivet, and took my intended 366 Snaps photo.
I'll discuss the Olivet stop a bit more with the day's other outtake .

Debbie's Doing Quite Well, Considering Everything
Borgess Hospital
In my head, this is what a hospital looks like.
When I was quite young my parents used Dad's GI Bill benefits to buy a house that's two blocks from this building, so it's always been part of my mental landscape. The hospital's grown enormously since I was a lad, with facilities all over a rather large campus, but this remains the view from Gull Road.
It's a good place, but over the past year my family's spent far too much time at this facility....
