Ice Storm 12/22/2013

Shot from a moving car, so there's a motion artifact on the shed. But this is what central Michigan looks like today.

This branch, from the White Pine in our yard, is clearly part of the problem.

The Hibiscus--aka Rose of Sharon in several variations--is the large bush on the right. It looks like it may be broken, though the extent of the damage may not be clear for months. The Linden tree always droops, but is drooping more today. And a couple of our neighbors' trees in the background.

All this weight cannot be good for the tree.

Pretty typical damage. It was a hard day for trees around our place.

Pretty sure that these are the folks who restored our power. Not a great photo, but I need to express our appreciation.

With ice, of course. Was planning to post this yesterday, as my Christmas Day photo, but stuff happened.
