Chimney-piece from Dorchester House – Gamble Room, Café and Bar, Victoria and Albert Museum, South Kensington, London, England
This marble chimney-piece by Alfred Stevens is from the dining room of Dorchester House, Park Lane, where it was installed in an unfinished state around 1869. The figure parts were polished by James Gamble after Stevens’ death (he died in 1875).
