The Naughty Nineties – North Pavilion, City Hall, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Philadelphia's City Hall has an entrance from the street into an inner courtyard, on each side of the building. This is a view from inside one of them, the passageway from North Broad Street. This pavilion is the first of the four to have been cleaned and lit.

Alexander Milne Calder (1846-1923) emigrated from Scotland in 1868 and spent twenty years creating over 250 sculptures that adorn City Hall. Standing in this one small portion of the building you can sense the incredible amount of work that went into the building's sculpture.
