Pogonia ophioglossoides (Rose Pogonia or Snakemouth orchid)

Results of a long but rewarding day trip to the South Carolina coastal plain -- the Francis Marion National Forest in Berkeley County, South Carolina, to be specific. Thanks to my good friend Dr. Richard Porcher, who joined me on a portion of this trip, I was able to locate and photograph the federally Endangered, Schwalbea Americana or American chaffseed.
