We woke up to a frosty morning, not usual for a wildflower field trip. But my guess is that this would be the last of 2014. Walter Ezell and I had made the trip to the Green Swamp in Brunswick County, North Carolina. This first week in November is always a great time to see late fall orchids and other wildflowers...

We woke up to a frosty morning -- fairly unusual for a wildflower field trip, I think. Walter Ezell and I had driven to the Green Swamp in Brunswick County, North Carolina to photograph the fall orchids and wildflowers that never disappoint during the first week in November.
