"As part of the Univeristy's environmental commitment, help conserve water by turning off taps when you have finished using them"

Women's loo, Basement, Senate House, North Block.

These notices had appeared all over the place when I went back to college after my hol. Much as I agree with the sentiment, cynical me can't help wondering whether the need to save money hasn't got more to do with it.
