This shop at the top of Marchmont St (73) was formerly a card/gift ship called Perhaps as shown on
Google Street View
It closed down some time ago and stood empty for a while. It's now being renovated and in the process this rather lovely old sign was revealed. J. Barley seems such an apt name for a grocers.
I wonder what it is about to become. Will have to take a new pic when the renovation is complete. I wonder if they'll just cover this sign up again or whether they'll remove it.
I also wonder how often Google will update their street view photos. This is the second instance where I have taken a pic that differs from that in GSV. See also the ghost wine of Holloway Rd Anyone else got any examples? Should we post them somewhere?
