Il s'agit d'une ancienne église paroissiale. (Le village qui se trouvait là a quasiment disparu). Elle se situe, comme son nom l'indique, dans une gorge encaissée où le soleil n'apparaît quasiment pas durant les mois d'hiver!

jolie petite église , surprenante avec ses petites chapelles. Les Contamines -Montjoie ; j' ai travaillé avec le frère d 'un grand joueur de tennis , qui habitait les Contamines...il y a 20 ans...

Là on est en dehors de la station. Les petites chapelles attenantes sont en fait une partie d'un chemin de croix qui mène à l'église.
