Macy Girl

The last month and a half has not been so kind to me, and it all came to a head last week, when I had to say goodbye to my dear friend and best girl, Macy. The cancer had become too much for her poor body. I had promised her that I wouldn't let her suffer, and I didn't. I tried to give her a good summer - lots of walks, lots of time at the dog sitter's, lots of table scraps and doggie treats. It was such a difficult thing to do, saying goodbye to a faithful friend. I hope she forgives me, and I hope she knows just how much I miss her. She was an exceptional dog, and touched many lives while she was with us. Godspeed, my girl. <3

Macy's cancer is back. I'm not going to put her through medications and surgeries at her age. We're working to make sure her last few months are the best possible. I'm going to miss my walking buddy.
