Fisgas de Ermelo

This waterfall is one of the largest waterfalls in Portugal and one of the largest in Europe outside Scandinavia and the Alps, not precipitating in a single vertical leap: it does it in several leaps, progressively crossing a large barrier of quartzite, in a deep terrace. Its waters separate the granitic areas from the schist areas of the surrounding land.
The unevenness of this waterfall is 200 meters long, dug by the calm but persevering waters of the Olo River, which rises in the Alvão Natural Park.
