Palácio Nacional de Queluz

The Throne Room is the most beautiful of all Palace spaces. This space, built on the occasion of the marriage of D. Pedro and the future Queen D. Maria I, in 1760, arises from the need to transform the hitherto cottage into a residence with royal status. Thus, this room was designed for the holding of protocol hearings and other ceremonies, a purpose that remains until today. Work was completed in 1774.
