This amazing image of the sea with its ebbs and flows on the surface that evoke those deeper ones, plunges us definitely into the 'panta rhei', so sublty and appropriately quoted in your notes.

Yes, it is something that creeps on you person that you will never forget.
I was born many ( too many years ago ) in a small village near Lisbon, in a house 80 meters from the sea and that marked and decided 80% of my life.
