Bull of the woods to Big Slide Lake

Big Slide Lake is located in the foot hills of the Cascades at an elevation of 4261 above sea level. More specifically we were near Mount Hood. It took us over about 5 hours to hike 6 miles... sounds like a long time but it was an elevation climb of 2300 ft. most of which is steep switch back, which we did not consider and where not mentally nor physically prepared for (((: The hike back only took about 3 hours. Needless to say we will certainly be doing this hike again; it was worth every once of hell and heaven, and quite the motivator to continue backpacking.
