I love that style of municipal flower display - solid blocks (rectangles or other geometric shapes) of deep red flowers (ideally phlox) against a green background - normally seen in late July.

The subject of the very first colour picture I ever took, the first frame on my first slide film, was of a municipal flower bed:-
