What fun to read about the law in your link. In our city I think they still haven't repealed the law that you can't serve salmon to workers more than 5 days a week. Salmon had been so plentiful back in the day, that that was all that was served and the workers were sick of it. How inhumane - ha! Obviously no one does this anymore (workers would be lucky to get one meal of salmon) and so no one bothers to repeal the law.

You mean they had to work more than five days a week!
I wonder what they were served on the other two days.

Life was more genteel back then (for those that could afford it)
and you would have been serenaded with light music.
