Nope, I don't think I'll be able to travel any more, I have nasty pains from Arthritis which limit my walk considerably.

Have you tried glucosamine for your joints? It really works if you take it every day.

Yes, they are going to visit us in April, and yes, I'm taking glucosamine and it helped a lot, I'd be on a wheel chair if not for that, however I'm not in conditions to tackle a long journey.

(I'm having a look at your bus travel....)

Another thing that helps is wearing good shoes with the right support, and doing thigh-strengthening exercises to take the strain off the knee (presuming that's the problem).
