My Art
Some of the things I've drawn or painted throughout the years.
Mask Etching
This is a piece I did while in grade school. It's where you draw your picture, then cover it with black, which you then scratch off to reveal what's below it.
Watermelon and Christmas Stamp
A mixed-media piece I did using pen and ink, markers and Craypas, an oil-based crayon that you can blend together like oil paints.
Dennis The Menace
Another comic strip character I drew while in school, way back in the 1970's. This one is Dennis the Menace.
Andy Capp
Another off-the-cuff sketch I did in school of one of my favorite comic strip artists. This one depicts Andy Capp.
Tumbleweeds
Pen and ink, 4" x 4"
Back when I was in school, I used to like to emulate the drawing style of my favorite comic strip artists by doing quick, off-the-cuff sketches. Even to the point of "forging" their signatures to the pieces. This was the comic strip "Tumbleweeds," drawn by Tom Ryan. And I'm pretty sure the character's name was "Limpid Lizard."
I found this in a collection of artistic efforts from my old school days that my Mom had saved all those years ago.
Rotten Tomatoes
Paint on watercolor paper, 5" x 7".
Another piece of artwork I did while in school. This one was made by dripping paint on the paper, then taking a straw and blowing it around to form a pattern. I had called this one "Rotten Tomatoes."
Since it used paints, I suppose it could be called a "painting."
Paint By Numbers
This is an old paint-by-numbers picture I did when I was little. Before I was 13 anyway. It depicts a World War I aerial dogfight between two bi-planes.

Art Class, 1977
I was going through my old yearbooks and came across a picture from my 1977 art class, when I was a sophomore. I had forgotten all about making this bi-plane out of toothpicks and old model car tires. As I remember, it was about 10 inches long and was covered with paper so that it could be painted. The tires were part of the slicks that came with a model of a rail dragster, I can remember that quite well.
Crystal Ball On A Red World

A variation of a photo I uploaded on Sunday. I made the cube inside the sphere distorted as if it were being viewed through the sphere instead of inside it.

Dandelion Wine Label
I've got two slightly different batches of dandelion wine fermenting right now, so I worked up a label to use when it comes time for bottling it. The name I chose for the winery refers to an underground stream or river that runs under my town.
Blackberry Wine Label
Next up, I'm going to try and make some blackberry wine. Keeping the label similar to the one I created for my dandelion wine, this is the label I will use on the bottles.

The Seagull That Ate Miami

The original shot for this was taken on Jacksonville Beach, Florida, when I was down there in 1987. I just edited it and added the movie poster lettering for fun.
