Plant For A More Beautiful America

This Beautification of America Issue stamp was issued to publicize President Lyndon B. Johnson’s “Plant For A More Beautiful America” campaign. The campaign was inspired by First Lady Lady Bird Johnson’s conservation and beautification efforts.
The stamp features an image of the Jefferson Memorial, the Tidal Basin and cherry blossoms in Washington, DC., and was issued on October 5th, 1966.
I'm doing my part around my yard - planting trees and flowers. I wouldn't planting some of those cherry trees along the front edge of my lawn. They look so pretty when they're blooming in the Spring.
