Only Shades Of Gray

I was just going to shoot something with black and white film, but got to thinking that's almost like cheating; therefore, this week's image was shot in color. Instead of shooting in monochrome, I rounded up 11 different items from around my house that were actually gray in color. I felt that would be more in keeping with the theme.

Each of the 11 items in this picture were lit separately (and from a different direction), and then combined into one image. It took me a couple hours to get them to meld just like I wanted them to, but maybe it gives the picture somewhat of a unique look.

Quite the collection of gray/grey you piled up there ... a nice combination for the challenge.

So cool to see what you came up with Kenny. I like the lighting too. I have never heard that Monkees song, but what great lyrics. I have to listen to that one.

No, I haven't and I even have a "Monkees Greatest Hits" CD too. It's a really nice song and I see it was written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil too. The Monkees had some good people writing for them. I really liked the footage on that video. How nostalgic.... Thanks Kenny.

It didn't actually take that long - I just gathered the items up and had an idea how I wanted them positioned and got it the first try without it all falling. (Like Fibber McGee and Molly's closet.)

Great idea, Kenny! I like how you have them positioned in the lighting. The poem is very apropos to the image!

this is a wonderful display Kenny..... to me the cup and the film lead look green, but it just adds more interest to the shot in the right places.
