From the Archives
Images that ar older the a year which may or may not have been tidied up.
From the recent Archives 1
A few months ago I had to replace the main computer and have only recently got around to loading my images from the back up and that's when I realised how many unused images I had. I therefore intend to tidy them up and post some, probably every Monday,
The first offering is a shot of Eilean Donan Castle from autumn 2017,
The castle sits at the confluence of of three lochs, Loch Alsh, Loch Duice and Loch Long and was connected to mainland by a footbridge early in the 20th century.
Large for the detail please.
From the recent Archives 2
Up the Creek, A lady just contemplating the view at the point the Allt a Gleannain watercourse flows into Loch na Beiste, Kyleakin, Isle of Skye. The elderly trawler is laid up and under repair,
This is the second in a casual series of forgotten images from the archives this one is from Autumn 2017 and maybe not the best quality mainly because of the very bright sun but it's an image I like.
Large please if possible.
From the recent archives 3 +pip
It's late September 2017 and the sun has started to emerge from the cloud bank over the Black Cuillin range, This is a view across Loch Scavaig with the peaks of Sgurr Nan a Eag 924m and Sgurr Alasdair 992m, Taken from Elgol on the Isle of Skye's Straithaird peninsula, the foreground watercourse flowing into the loch is Allt Port na Cullaidh and the children on the foreshore are outside the village school the walls of which can just be seen far right of the image. Another pair in the casual series of recent archive images. A large view is recommended.
Colours and Cones
An image from 2 years ago in the occasional series of recent archive images this time an early autumnal capture from the Cruachan Forest,
I think a large view is better.
Rugged land.
Another in the occasional from the archive series again its an image from Elgol and the Black Cuillin and Loch Scavaig on the Isle of Skye this time from 2019, weather conditions are typical of the ever changing conditions on this coast.
A large view may show a number of waterfalls tumbling down the rock faces.
The Obbe.
The Obbe is the harbour inlet that runs around the back of the village at Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye while a grey heron waits for afternoon tea to swim past.
Another image in the occasional "From the Archives" Series this time from 2015 (previously unposted images)
Post Sunset
A slightly spooky Eilean Donan Castle is another in the recent archive series,
Restored castle on a small island at the confluence of Loch Alsh, Loch Long and Loch Duice.
Large please
Way Back, HFF
Came across this shot from 2011 while sorting old images, The 60-mile canal connects the east coast at Inverness to the west coast at Corpach near Fort William it has 29 locks, four aqueducts and ten bridges during the journey across country and is able to take ships up to 150ft (45.72 m)
This is taken near the western end at Gairlochy with the Ben Nevis range of mountains as a backdrop,
Map of the canal here waterways.org.uk/waterways/discover-the-waterways/caledonian-canal
HFF and a good weekend
Glen Etive
Still sorting old images, I'm now up to 2012, this is the River Etive close to the point it flows into Loch Etive, the view is looking back up the glen towards the mountains of Glencoe,
