Exmoor National Park
Scene's from the moor.
Patchwork, HFF
Patchwork fields and partial sun in another image from the Somerset side of the Exmoor National Park,
Again the image is in 16.9 format so a large view would be appreciated.
An Exmoor Farm
Deep in the valley and protected from the worst of the weather,
The Bristol Channel just in the image top right,
Another image in 16.9 format so a large view would be appreciated.
Porlock Bay, HFF
Exmoor meets the sea from the top of Porlock Toll Road,
The never ending battle to hold back the waves was abandoned in 2001when the sea defences were opened to allow the sea to create a salt marsh here, Bossington beach curves around to the headland and the South Wales coast is in the far distance.
In 16.9 format so a large view is recommended.
Exmoor,
Exmoor National Park and the road to Dunkery Beacon a sandstone hill that rises to 1,705 feet (520 m and is the highest point on the moor,
Large perhaps
1000 BC
Tarr Steps Clapper bridge, possibly constructed around 1000 BC, The stone slabs each weigh up to1 or 2 tons. It is 180 feet (55m) long and has 17 spans, Now a designated grade 1 listed building plus it's a scheduled ancient monument,
It crosses the River Barle in Exmoor National Park, Somerset, England,
This was originally posted in 2014, large may be better

Exmoor View
A view across a corner of the moor to a distant Bristol Channel,
I recommend viewing large.
A Fight for Survival, HFF
It's a difficult life for a tree when the strong and cold Atlantic winds blow through the Bristol Channel especially when they are on the high ground of Exmoor., The coast of South Wales is across the channel.
HFF and take care !
