Spring at Westhay Moor National Nature Reserve, set in the middle of Avalon Marshes on the Somerset Levels and is the jewel in the crown of the Somerset Wildlife Trust.

Dandelion Waits
Footprints in the soft mud indicate a recent visitor to Dandelions mooring as she waits for the evening tide to arrive in Watchet Harbour. the floating pontoons will then raise to accommodate the rapid infow of water which can be as much as 6m (20ft) during spring tides,

Esplanade Sunset, HFF.
Watchet Harbour at Sunset, if you are able to view large a car transporter is anchored in the channel waiting for the tide before entering Royal Portbury dock at Avonmouth.
Evening Fence, HFF
Bridgwater Bay at Burnham on Sea waiting for the evening tide as the Sun goes down,
These steps lead to a lower set of steps to access the beach and this image shows the top of the 3.2m (10.6") Sea wall while in the distance is the 34m (110feet) inland Lighthouse .
Sunset Drove, HFF.
The Somerset levels can often produce dramatic sunsets, This shot really gave the camera and sensor a work out as the foreground was quite dark but the band of sky was dramaticly bright so I settled on f6.3 and let the camera sort out the rest . hopefully you like the result.
Roads on the levels are called droves and the cattle on the left have seen it all before so they carried on grazing.

Sheep at Sunset, HFF
On the bank of the Cripps River, to the left behind the trees is Brent Knoll (37-metre-high (449 ft) the only high point on this part of the levels,
The river is only 1.6 miles long and is used by the Environment Agency as a channel for moving potentially huge amounts of water from the River Brue down to the Huntspill River at times of heavy rain or flood.
IN 16.9 format so a large view would be appreciated.
Porlock Bay, HFF
Exmoor meets the sea from the top of Porlock Toll Road,
The never ending battle to hold back the waves was abandoned in 2001when the sea defences were opened to allow the sea to create a salt marsh here, Bossington beach curves around to the headland and the South Wales coast is in the far distance.
In 16.9 format so a large view is recommended.
