It's a shame that money could not be found to keep them afloat for the leasure industry at the time they became surplus to requirement as trawlers. That said from the photography point of view it is an wonderful shot with all the light and colours on the wooden boards.

I really like the textures and details in the wood Roger..............the rusty nails and streaks of rust add a lovely bit of colour too. The closest boat has lovely lines and would have been quite splendid in it's heyday!

Many thanks Janet, there were from memory three or four boats beached here together but around on the sunny side I found the beautiful shapes and textures of these two old trawlers.
Although the internet is full of images of these old boats information on them is sadly in short supply
