The lead loco number is forgotten, now known to be 5920. The second loco is 5917, and the pair are on their final run to Enfield in August 1972. 5917 was later chosen for preservation. People associated with a museum at Cowra own it and keep it in operating condition. I got off 5917 here at Flemington to continue by spark to Granville.

The lead loco number is forgotten. Looking through the steam in this photo the lead loco could be 5920, now confirmed. The second loco is 5917, and the pair are on their final run to Enfield in August 1972. 5917 was later chosen for preservation. People associated with a museum at Cowra own it and keep it in operating condition. 5917 is now 'The Picnic Train' main steam loco and so survives in preservation.

The Byrock railway yards out of use since the early 80s. The loading gauge for wagons loaded with wool bales frames the water tower.
2042 Girilambone 042

Girilambone station hasn't seen a train since the early 80s. The station buildings, in early 2007, have been vandalised and some attempt has been made restore them. The high goods platform is at the left. See the opposite view here: www.ipernity.com/doc/grahamh/24080733
2041 Byrock 041

The Byrock railway yards out of use since the early 80s. The water tower and crane are dry and probably haven't served a steam loco for 50 years. The platform is without nameboard or station building. the shelter on the extreme right has a noticeboard of articles and photos from busier times.
