Eveleigh was the loco depot serving Sydney based passenger services. It was also a centre for loco construction and heavy overhaul. Another insight into the past was the September 65 (001 - 009) visit itself. I went with two others, one of whose parents organised the visit. 1307 is a 4-4-2 tank loco which was originally a 12 class 4-4-0 tender loco from around 1880. This loco had recently been replaced at Yass by an X200 rail tractor. I was surprised to see it here. Soon after I took the photo of 1307 a guy about 18 said he had to move it and did I want a ride so I climbed in and went about a 100m. That was pretty good.
