Loco 5910 during a photostop on a saturday afternoon mini tour across the Blue Mountains from Sydney to place the loco at Lithgow for the main event the next day, with this loco to Mudgee and a 47 to Gulgong. The light loading meant that an electric bank loco was not needed. This was unusual back then. The cars were returned to Sydney behind an electric loco that evening. This is from a print, one day I'll scan the slides...

Backup! I think we are too close to the tracks. Empty wagons being hauled up the hill to the cement factory. Commonwealth Portland Cement at Portland NSW June 1974. Portland is significant because it is a long term, one industry, one company town. The company supplied concrete roads as shown in this photo.
