3642 at Hornsby in late 1972. I've no idea why it was there or why it was running tender first. This may be the reason... www.pbase.com/stanb/image/43579154

3820 on a railfan special in IIRC October 1972 at Hornsby. (I'm standing on the track to the elevated road in loco for coaling. The one to the left of the timber pole branched to the storage roads).

The lead loco number is forgotten, now known to be 5920. The second loco is 5917, and the pair are on their final run to Enfield in August 1972. 5917 was later chosen for preservation. People associated with a museum at Cowra own it and keep it in operating condition. The locos are departing Hornsby. A single deck suburban train from the North Shore line is in platform 2.

5405 on a ballast train on the down at the down end of platform 4 with a 44cl passing with an up freight in January 1965. The track on the left is the dock platform which also had a cattle pen and loading ramp.
