Ford Zephyr 012014 001

Ford Zephyr 012014 001
A new driver's daily drive. A Ford Zephyr MkII sold in Australia in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

This had a bench seat and column shift. I've never driven or ridden in one. Father-in-Law had several including a ute in the 60s before I met my wife.

Very nice indeed. This appears to still be on full registration, which suggests it is a daily driver - and well kept at that.

I came from a Holden family and my wife's family was Fix or repair daily. It's a wonder my marriage has worked. :-) (Actually, we both owned Toyotas when we met). One brother-in-law had a hot Anglia before I knew them, but he was never into racing.

I have a Pulsar, with a Holden motor, for most use and a Kingswood as 2nd car.

Where did your husband race? I went to Warwick Farm a few times in the late 60s mainly because a younger bro wanted to go.

Fun cars, my mate had a Consul. Not so sure about the colour though. :-)

A very similar colour was popular here on Holdens in 1960ish.

Thanks. This was a medium to large car in the Australian market back when it was new.
