Arriving back at Muswellbrook.
HBM for 30/12/24.
A railfan weekend tour using a preserved loco plus 2 of the last steam locos in revenue service in NSW in December 1972.
(This weekend was also notable for a significant rearranging of the benches in Australia's national parliament).

Thanks George. This tour was on the Saturday & Sunday of the 'its time' election. On the previous day I had spent a couple of hours at the Whitlam's home in south west Sydney for my work with the PMG as a trainee tech. I was sending test tones so others could setup a broadcast quality landline to enable radio interviews to be done from their home once results were known.

Thanks Xata. The afternoon was mostly overcast. I was taking B&W in 1 camera and colour slides in another. The B&W made the better photos I think.
