Die Kapelle, am Zusammenfluß von Kötschdorfer Bach und Schilterbach gelegen, wurde von Sophie Breu gestiftet und 1955 erbaut. Sophie Breu als Leiterin des Schlenzkurheimes St. Michael war eine große Verehrerin der Marienerscheinung von Banneux, Belgien, im Jahre 1933. Die Kapelle befindet sich im Eigentum der Bischöflichen Administration Regensburg.
