Mt Eerwah near Eumundi, Queensland

Near the country towns of Eumundi, Cooroy and Pomona, in South East Queensland. Other mountains nearby are: relief of 300m or more. Mount Cooroora at Pomona Mount Cooran Mount Tuchekoi Mount Cooroy Point Glorious Black Mountain This view is from the lookout on Eumundi Range Road, between Cooroy and Eumundi, Queensland. There are acreage properties along Eumundi Range Road and across on Black Mountain Road. Not to be confused with the other Black Mountain up near Cooktown, in Far North Queensland, almost 2000kms away, which has some strange tales associated with it. Mount Lindesay

Mt Barney National Park We were driving back to Queensland in 2002 and were diverted through Kyogle onto the Mt Lindesay Highway. Took this photo and much later scanned it and mis-identified it until I had some help from the Park Rangers. "After a few messages to Rangers around the region the Mountain in your photo has been identified as Mt Lindsey (part of the Mt Barney National Park) in the Scenic Rim Southern Qld." 8 June 2012 Sunshine Coast / Burnett Region Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service. Elevation 1,177 m (3,862 ft) Mount Lindesay lies on the Queensland-New South Wales border, approximately 140 km south west of Brisbane, Australia. It is one of a number of peaks in the McPherson Range, and is remarkable for its tiered summit, the eroded remnant of lava flows from the nearby Focal Peak shield volcano. Mount Lindesay is situated within the Mount Barney National Park in Queensland and the Border Ranges National Park in New South Wales. Apart from the northern slopes, the rest of the peak is covered in dense rainforest, and the summit is frequently in cloud and mist. The Mount Lindesay Highway passes to the western side of Mount Lindesay. Wikipedia

On the Trans Karoo Train

Between Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa The Trans Karoo Express, or simply Trans Karoo, was a South African express passenger train service which travelled an approximately 1,600-kilometre (990 mi) journey between Johannesburg and Cape Town. It operated daily in each direction, meaning that there were in fact two Trans Karoos - they passed each other during the night, heading in opposite directions. The service was operated by Spoornet, the national railway company. The Trans Karoo was named from the Great Karoo scrubland, one of the most extensive geographical features of southern Africa, across which the train operated... The service is now incorporated into the Shosholoza Meyl network of operations, a sub-division of the national passenger train operator, the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa. Although the title of Trans Karoo has officially ended, it is still used colloquially.. Wikipedia Scanned original taken in 1982
