101/365 2025 Living with Koalas

101/365 2025 Living with Koalas
New South Wales, Australia
The Koala Trail in Lake Cathie is part of the larger "Hello Koalas" sculpture trail, and it includes a stop at "Guulabaa - Place of Koala" in Cowarra State Forest. This location features the Big Koala sculpture, Wildnets Adventure Park (a treetop experience), and a cafe. The Koala Trail also includes other towns and locations along the Mid-North Coast, such as Wauchope, Laurieton, and North Haven.

Do you happen to see koalas there? I remember they are difficult to spot in the trees. I saw some in the wild in Noosa, and some in the Sydney zoo.

Have seen Koalas in the wild, in Noosa and Maleny, and at various preservation parks, but not around here, so far (in this area for five years). There are plenty about though. There is a Koala Sculpture trail in and around the Port Macquarie area, which is where these photos were taken. The utmost is done to preserve their habitat, and keep them safe, but we don't see them very often.
