Oomoo

Hardys wines est. 1853 in South Australia.
Thomas Hardy came to Australia from Devon. He first worked with John Reynell, South Australia’s first winemaker. In 1850 he married Johanna and bought his first property Bankside. He bottled his first vintage in 1857.
In 1870 he launched his Oomoo range – named using the local aboriginal word for ‘good’.
In 1876 he purchased the Tintara vineyards and winery in McLaren Vale.
First Australian wines to be awarded two gold medals at the International Wine Shows in Bordeaux 1882 and Paris 1889.
