Arbor Low

The remains of a Neolithic henge monument in the Peak District. It was probably constructed around 2500BC and there is an even earlier long barrow nearby. The stones would originally have stood upright but were probably knocked over in the Middle Ages by villagers who were disturbed by this pagan monument.
