Right outside the windows sky rockets were flying all around at 00:00, but Snow White was not scared at all. She actually watched the fireworks with great interest. :)

A flock of 50 or more sparrows visits our garden several times a day. Most are House Sparrows, but some Tree Sparrows have joined the group. For the difference between the species, see the next pictures.

With Tree Sparrows both sexes look alike and are easily mistaken for House Sparrow males. Note the black dot on the cheek and brown crown.

House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) male, 27.12.2013.
The male House Sparrow can be mistaken for a Tree Sparrow, but it has a grey crown and no black dot on the chin. Note the black batch on the throat.

The female House Sparrow has no black badhe or grey crown. But she looks so lovely in her simplicity... :)
