Magnolia time

Spring is a wonderful time at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. when the magnolia trees are in full bloom. This building, known as the Castle, was the first building of the sixteen building museum complex and was completed in 1855 out of red sandstone fto imitate a 12th Century Norman castle incorporating late Romanesque and early Gothic design ideas.
