Anticipation before the flames


Guatemalans celebrate "La Quema del Diablo" (Burning of the Devil), every December 7th. Fireworks are set and pinatas or wooden effigies of the devil are burned, symbolizing the cleansing of negativity and preparation for the Christmas season.
