They tend to do that Esther, we have a huge permanent breeding flock on a swamp in Copenhagen.

I didn't know they used down to make their nests! Here in Europe the species is seen as invasive.

Wonderful capture! I remember waiting and seeing a Canada goose have her eggs hatch a decade ago. As she was a mother without a partner (something must have happened to him), she learned to trust me and at times left the eggs to quickly get something to eat. When the eggs were hatching, she only let me get close and hissed at anyone else that approached.
