Waiting to be built for more than two decades the Phoenix models AW Atlas proved to be one of the best vacuform kits I 've ever built. Modifications required for a Greek machine were: removal of the slats and exhaust, slightly bigger prop blades and adding the reduction gearbox to the Jaguar engine. Painted with alclad and modelmaster enamels, insignia and markings included.
This Beech C18 was used by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority from 1951 to early 1965.
The PM kit comes from the distant past of 1990 when it appeared under the "Pioneeer 2" label.
A simple kit with very deep (and I mean deep...) engraved panel lines, inaccurate engine cowls and thick distorted transparencies.
There is nothing that can't be corrected with some extra work :) A few details added, no aftermarket parts were used.
I designed the decals (which were custom printed and are available by LM decals) and the VW truck 3d printed and available from shapeways if anyone is interested.
