Rhossili Bay - classic view

The obligatory viewpoint for Rhossili Bay, taken on a bright but blusterous, showery, autumn day. Looking northwards towards Burry Holms. Llansteffan and Pendine Sands visible in the far distance.

Llanmadoc Hill and Llangennith, from Rhosili Down, Gower, South Wales.

Originally uploaded for the Flickr Guesswhere UK group. This is on the western end of the Gower - a view of Llanmadoc Hill with the village of Llangennith near the foot. Across the Loughor Estuary is Burry Port and Pembrey. The photo was taken from the eastern flank of Rhosili Down.

Worms Head causeway, Rhosili, Gower, South Wales.

Worms Head viewed from the causeway. The Carboniferous Limestone is steeply dipping to the south here and in the distance on Inner Head. There is a raised beach visible above the modern beach on Inner Head.

Outer Head and Middle Head - Worm's Head peninsula

The Worm's Head peninsula lies at the western extremity of the Gower Peninsula, south Wales. It is connected to the main part of the Gower at Rhosili by a rocky causeway which is normally only uncovered two-and-a-half hours either side of low tide. There are four distinct 'lumps' to Worm's Head - the long Inner Head, nearest Rhosili; the spectacular Outer Head, the most distant seen here, and the lower Middle Head consisting of two separate summits, with the arch of Devil's Bridge between them. This view is from the top of Inner Head.

Great Tor, south Gower coast, South Wales.

Originally posted for the Guesswhere UK group. It was blowing a gale when I took this, on a stormy afternoon in October 2005. This is a view of Great Tor taken from Pennard Pill (the river in the foreground) at Three Cliffs Bay on the south Gower coast. Oxwich Bay is just visible through the mist and spray on the LH side.
