Campanile di San Marco

The Campanile (bell tower) in Piaza San Marco, Venice.
The original structure was built in the 10th century, but collapsed following some bodged restoration work on 14th July 1902, after standing for nearly 1000 years. It was rebuilt to exactly the same design and reopened on April 25, 1912 -- exactly 1000 years after the foundations of the original structure had been laid, according to historians of the time.
