Burbage Edge

Outcrop of Chatsworth (or Rivelin) Grit ('Millstone Grit') on Burbage Edge. The debris slope of large boulders dates mainly from the last glacial period (ended 11,500 years ago) when the Peak District was largely free of ice, although under periglacial (permafrost) conditions.
