The tombs look like little houses. They are constructed of rock and adobe, painted pink, cream and red. They are in a straight line excavated in the rocky wall of the canyon.

"Die Höhe und Form der Häuser ist unterschiedlich, aber die Häuser sind immer an die Gesteinsmauer und die natürliche Grotte, in der sie sich befinden, angepasst. Deswegen haben sie entweder ein oder zwei Stockwerke sowie ausschliessliche Nebeneingänge. Manchmal haben die Mausoleen eine gemeinsame Mauer.
Die Häuser sind nur etwas über einen Meter hoch. Das ist hoch genug, um die Mumien in Sitzposition abzulegen. Die Häuser sind fast intakt, aber leider wurden die Mumien, die sich darin befanden entweder von Grabräubern gestohlen oder von Nagetieren gefressen."
