A funny thing happened on the way to the gem show...

And by funny I mean Tragic and Sad. No one was hurt, and no glass broke (which is actually pretty amazing, when you consider just how *much* glass I had in my car, and that I often lose a bead or two on the way to a show...), but Blue didn't survive. :( :( :(

I originally shot these with b&w in mind, but as I was looking through them I kept seeing the bright colors - the blue of the the remains of my car, the yellow of the road stripes, the red of the ambulance and firetruck, the orange of the safety vests... So I went in the opposite direction, dialling up the saturation on those colors, and then desaturating the background (selective un-coloring?); I'm fairly certain I was still in shock when I started processing these...
