Got a set of (temporary) fur-color paint pens; Sophie was more than happy to let me test them all out by doodling on her. :D

The paint pens fade pretty quickly - 1-2 baths, or anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks on their own. Sophie is going to be the Big Bad Wolf (to Rafi's Red Riding Hood) for halloween, I plan to wash out the now-mostly-faded-to-a-pale-pastel rainbow tail thursday-ish and do an all-over grey and black.
