Sophie was a bit unnerved about being in water too deep to stand in; but she's actually naturally a really great swimmer. She was so busy nope-ing her way out of there and back onto dry land I don't even think she noticed that she had no trouble moving around and getting to where she wanted to go... :)
(the first time, she ran in on her own; i carried her in and swam out a bit with her on my shoulder a few more times (and then again the day after we got back, in my friend's pool), and as soon as i let go she'd swim right back to shore... i think once she's had a bit of time to process the experience, and with a few more beach/pool trips, she'll be right out there swimming with the big dogs. :) )
