On June 9, 1979, Briton Michael Cairney set a world record in domino toppling when he pushed the first of 169,713 dominoes set up on the huge floor of the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. It was a benefit for the National Hemophila Foundation. I covered the domino set-up, and the knock-down, too.
